There's no shortage of Twitter clients available to users looking to stay away from Twitter.com-- even though Twitter itself remains the most visited by users, according to TwitStat. One of those top clients is Seesmic, but until today it had a lackluster mobile versions on phones using Google's Android operating system.

Now Seesmic has announced an upgraded Android version with features that could make it a go-to Twitter resource, including search, Twitter lists, a share function and font size setting. Seesmic currently offers mobile apps for Blackberry and Android. While there is no app for the iPhone, there is an interesting video on YouTube that spotlights Seesmic on an iPod touch. The video is uploaded by Seesmic labs, supposedly, though the URL brings you to a non-existent page.

Support for Twitter lists is probably the most useful upgrade, allowing users to view, follow or unfollow a list directly within the application. Also useful, the share functions let users share links, photos or videos all hosted by their own service. It's probably worth noting that the ability to change font sizes makes the application valuable to those who might not have 20/20 eye-sight such as myself.

The new features makes Seesmic tough competition for other Android apps like Twoid or Twit2go, which have limited features.  Twitdroid is really it's only app with the same features, but it has more preference settings used by experienced users. If you're looking for a clean, easy-to-understand app, go with Seesmic.
