GoToMyPC is probably the most popular software for connecting from a laptop on the road to a PC back at the office or home. But what about us Mac-addicted members of the media?
Next week, software maker Citrix -- known for its online meeting and Webinar software -- will officially take the Mac version of GoToMyPC out of beta and declare it ready for business use. The new version will connect from a Mac or PC, to a Mac or PC. (Apple has a Back to My Mac feature, but it's only for Mac-to-Mac connections.)
The bad news is the Mac version won't be free anymore, once it's out of beta. You'll need to license GoToMyPC's service for $19.95 a month or $179.40 per year for a one-computer license.
