E-reader comparison chart: 6 readers, 19 features

PaidContent.org has put together a thorough, helpful chart that compares the six most popular e-readers: Amazon.com’s Kindle 2 and Kindle DX, Sony’s Daily Edition, Barnes & Noble’s Nook, Plastic Logic’s Que proReader, and of course Apple’s iPad.

The chart compares 19 features ranging from hardware to software to content.

SheridanForbes, this article is about e-reader comparison, not "ipad differences", so ipad is lucky to have even been included. It not only fails to do most of what similarly-priced netbooks do, but it also fails as an e-reader because of its display. If you want a back-lit screen that flickers 60 times per second and never allows your eyes to relax, then any typical computer monitor will do as well as the pad. But if you want a static display which, like paper, allows your eyes to focus and then relax, you're talking about e-ink. A device intended primarily for reading should have, at the very least, this feature as well as several days' battery life. The pad has neither.

I'd like to see the same chart, but one that shows the abilities of the devices to view videos, listen to music, and play games. Only then will people understand the real iPad differences.
