If you’ve been waiting patiently for your Nexus 7 tablet to arrive, your wait is almost up. Google’s hotly anticipated device will ship by Thursday to most U.S. customers who preordered, unless you ordered accessories with the tablet.
The Google Nexus 7 is a stunning 7-inch tablet that re-writes the rules on what a $200 slate should be. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, has access to the Google Play store, and features a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1,280-by-800 display. It could be disruptive to the iPad’s total dominance, so much that Apple is reportedly working on a 7.85-inch “iPad mini.”
Those in the U.S. who preordered the 8GB or 16GB Nexus 7 without accessories will receive the unit by end-of-day Thursday. If you have accessories, expect your tablet to arrive by the end of this week, but your accessories might ship later. Standalone 16GB Nexus 7s that were not preorders will arrive by the end of next week.
On its Nexus 7 shipping help page, Google clarifies shipping estimates for the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia:
