Dachis Group, a social marketing software company, has announced a $7.5 million round of funding.
The startup combines a few disciplines: social marketing, social analytics, and big data. The company’s products can track brand advocates’ social media impact, employee’s online activities, online marketing campaigns, and overall brand social performance, allowing clients to optimize accordingly and — with any luck or skill — profit.
Previously, the startup took a huge $30 million round from Austin Ventures in 2011. Austin Ventures was also responsible for the current round, which is Dachis’ Group’s third infusion of institutional funding.
“I am extremely proud of our ongoing partnership with the team at Austin Ventures and incredibly excited by what this funding round represents,” wrote founder Jeff Dachis (pictured) today on the company blog.
“We decided to accept additional funding because we’ve reached some very significant milestones in our evolution as a company,” he said, continuing to note that his company now has more that 100 enterprise-level clients and tracks more than 35,000 brands across various social networks.
Previously, Dachis co-founded Razorfish, another social marketing company.
Dachis Group was founded in 2008 and is based in Austin, Texas, with offices in Lincoln, Neb.; New York City; Portland, Ore.; St. Louis, Mo.; London; and Kiev, Ukraine. Its clients include Nokia, Estee Lauder, Bloomberg, Bank of America, and New York Life, among other household names.
