Arrested Development Season 4 starts today, may hog more than 5% of Netflix usage

Popular sitcom Arrested Development‘s fourth season started streaming this morning at 3 a.m. Eastern, and it’s expected to become one of Netflix’s most-watched original series ever.

One expert said the network could take up more than 5 percent of Netflix’s bandwidth usage today. You can binge on the full 15 episodes of the season — perfect for the long weekend.

Netflix has done well with original programming, hitting big with shows House of Cards and Hemlock Grove. The company is betting that such binge-oriented original programming, backed by a $200 million investment in such content this year alone, will help drive subscriptions of its service. It hopes to fend off competitors such as Amazon, HBO, and Redbox Instant.

At least based on the trailer, which is packed with crazy antics from the entire cast, fans won’t be disappointed.
