A supposed Flickr slip-up has apparently confirmed the name of Nokia’s next phone.

According to the metadata of photos posted by Windows Phone manager Joe Belfiore, Nokia’s next phone is the Lumia 1020, the 41-megapixel juggernaut that Nokia has been teasing for months now.

The two photos, which have since been marked private, appear days before Nokia is expected to announce a new device at an event in New York City. Something tells me very little of this was an accident.

As for the photos themselves, well — they look pretty good. Nokia’s focus on camera technology was what made its PureView 808 so attractive, so it’s a great sign that the company is finally bringing that tech to Windows Phone. We’ll see for ourselves how good the camera is later this week.
