The basics of living — eating, washing, sleeping, etc. — can be rather dull at times. But when you’re doing the task in space, it’s a completely different story.

Following in the footsteps of the charismatic Chris Hadfield, who posted several awesome videos from the International Space Station, U.S. astronaut Karen Nyberg has recorded a three-minute video showing how she washes her hair in space.

In the video, Nyberg shows the strangeness of trying to apply water and shampoo while in zero gravity. What’s especially cool is when water darts away from Nyberg’s head while she’s trying to put more in. Of course, when water droplets hover in front of you, you can always try to scoop them back toward your hair.
