VentureBeat is looking for a veteran web developer with extensive knowledge of and experience working with PHP and MySQL based platforms.

About you:

  • You can contribute to the development of our websites through a number of different projects and products.
  • You have the ability to handle both the frontend and backend to get the project to completion. This is critical.
  • You recognize the importance of delivering quality work and are diligent about validating your changes to ensure they’re ironclad.
  • You work well with a team of developers to deliver a product, but you aren’t afraid to take the reins and work on a project by yourself.

Responsibilities/requirements:

  • Extensive experience with PHP and MySQL based platforms
  • Well-acquainted with jQuery and AngularJS
  • Experience with high-scale, high-visibility websites
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Google Adwords/DFP experience
  • Ability to learn new software with little or no formal training or documentation
  • Knowledge of best-practices for user experience
  • Optimizing databases for performance
  • Knowledge with caching systems
  • Self-motivated and directed
Would prefer:
  • Experience developing on the WordPress platform
  • WordPress VIP experience
  • Experience developing with Drupal
  • Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator experience
The position is located at 50 California St. in downtown San Francisco, and the start date is ASAP. Pay is competitive based on experience.
