Despite increasing competition from services like Snapchat, Instagram continues to grow: The photo sharing service announced that it passed 200 million monthly active users last night.

Since Instagram last released user stats six months ago, the service has grown by 50 million. Instagram detailed on its blog that an impressive 20 billion photos have been posted on the network in total since its launch in 2010.

When Instagram announced its 150 million user milestone, we learned that 60 percent of its entire user base existed outside the U.S.. It’s quite likely that the social network’s international growth has continued, although the Facebook-owned network has not released stats to support such growth.
