Calling all the rebels, innovators, creatives, and those who think they have the best tech start up around: The adrenaline packed non-profit MaiTai Global launched more information today about its Extreme Tech Challenge.
If you have been out of the loop, here are just couple lowdowns to get you up to speed.
Susi Mai, a Red Bull-sponsored athlete, and Bill Tai, a venture capitalist, joined forces a few years back to create one of the coolest conferences tech entrepreneurs and professional athletes can go to.
Along with these conferences, for the past four years MaiTai Global has been putting on startup contests that have been very successful. In an interview with VentureBeat, Tai said, “It just happened that at one of our MaiTai Global conferences on Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson came into discussion about these startup competitions.”
This is what got the ball rolling for Susi Mai, president of MaiTai Global. “This challenge now has a list full of amazing super star judges, sponsors, and partners,” Tai said, and it is welcoming more.
Here are a few highlights:
- The contestants have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make an impact immediately in the tech world and to hit the ground running.
- The chance to work with a powerhouse of world class judges like Lars Rasmussen, Sir Richard Branson, and more.
- A trip to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show and then a private island vacation.
