If you’re grabbing a Lyft, you probably want to get to your destination as soon as humanly possible. Now Lyft speeds up your trips with the alternative cab service by getting you to share your destination before you even get into the car.

Lyft announced the new feature in an email to customers today, noting that “the app will instantly queue up the route.”

Little improvements like this can help Lyft become more popular and compete with services like Uber and its on-demand cars and Sidecar.

You can change destinations, too, by updating the address in the middle of the ride — or you can guide your driver through the streets.

For better or worse, Lyft won’t give you a discount if you do the navigating.

Lyft just announced an extra-wide $250 million funding round, and it’s been experimenting lately with discounts.
