AMSTERDAM–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 13, 2014–
Pocket Media, a performance-based mobile agency operating in Amsterdam and New York, has received investment from Hans de Back, Managing Partner of the Singapore-based IncubAsia Ventures. This investment is in line with Pocket Media’s proactive expansion policy and the company’s rapid growth since its launch in April 2012.
The Asia Pacific region is a major driving force of mobile connection and subscriber growth, accounting for an estimated 1.4 billion new connections between 2013 and 2017. Pocket Media is seeking to tap into these new opportunities.
Hans de Back said of the deal: “Pocket Media fills the demand by advertisers to create more cost-effective marketing campaigns whilst providing the highest effective revenue per click for publishers. Having worked closely with the Pocket Media team for some time, I believe that they are committed to constantly innovating newer disruptive technologies to outpace this ever-growing industry. With this investment, Pocket Media will accelerate its growth even further, especially in the Asia pacific region.”
Benjamin Pomerantz, Founder of Pocket Media, concurred: “This investment is a game changer for us, allowing us to expand in the Asia Pacific region with mobile advertising. With the investment we will increase our efforts to build a disruptive high-performance technology to target the mobile user effectively.”
In addition, Pomerantz believes that De Back not only brings his experience in building large companies in short periods of time to the Pocket Media board, but also his extensive business networks within Asia, which will help to overcome market differences between Europe and Asia. This is a strategic partnership, where De Back will join the board and lend his expertise in the areas of business development, marketing & sales, hiring and localization of the company. Over the next two months, Pocket Media is looking to hire three to five individuals to establish the sales and business development team in Singapore.
About Pocket Media:
With a team of 18 based in Amsterdam, Pocket Media focuses on the advertising of mobile product verticals: app installs, lead generation and mobile content to help advertisers increase their customer acquisition and retention. This is achieved through the emphasis of their five business pillars: close partnerships, quality focused, transparency, targeting and fraud control. By adopting Pocket Media’s proprietary technology, advertisers receive full reports on each site’s mobile activity and recommendations on how to improve mobile visibility, traffic and conversions. The company has also expanded its business to New York.
