Samsung’s new commercial gets a head start on iPhone 6 ridicule (video)

Apple has yet to announce the iPhone 6, but that isn’t stopping the competition from busting the company’s chops about the device.

In a new commercial published to Samsung’s YouTube account, the hardware manufacturer takes a shot at the rumored larger screen on Apple’s anticipated iPhone 6. Samsung, of course, points out that its Galaxy smartphones have always had larger screens, but that’s pretty much it.

I know Samsung is all about ridiculing Apple (especially after all the legal drama the two have been through over patents the last two years), but talking about anticipation for a competitor’s product seems like a waste of time and money. That said, I’m sure this won’t be the only Samsung commercial to make fun of the iPhone 6 as we get closer to September, which is when Apple typically announces new smartphones.

Check out the Samsung commercial embedded below and let us know what you think in the comments section.

I have the Galaxy S1, S3, Ace, Note 2, Note 10.1 and then my wife has the iPhone 5s.

Samsung mobile devices have all the gimmicks minus the stability and do not update to latest versions of Android in most cases. Also I'm tired of the plastic, especially on flagship devices, it looks real cheap after a while.

Happy with the iPhone. Too much to mention...

Go to Samsung's Flagship store in SOHO, NYC, get a super trashy T-shirt, a broken Fan and a 1-Quarter Laserpointer as giveaways... NO MORE WORDS TO SAY. They will always be the trashy budget-brand.

Recently, I've noticed a number of people I know with iPhones running iOS 7 pocket dialing, or accidentally bumping "Mute" whilst on the phone with others; and also initiatiating Three-Way Conference calls.

In fact this happened to me and I found it unacceptable.  I decided to sell my iPhone 5, and go back to my older iPhone 3GS, which has iOS 5.  Im not having any more problems since I changed to the older iPhone 3GS.

I guess the iOS 7 wasn't tested enough; likely because people with iPhones at Apple don't make phone calls because of the unreliable coverage in Silicon Valley and difficulty getting antennas approved.  That's probably also why they developed iMessage.

iPhones are good devices, but if it can't reliably make a phone call, it's not really a phone, is it..?

Trash and Trinkets will always be a marketing thing. Still, it's tough to say they are a "trashy budget-brand".  Samsung's revenue in 2013 was  US$327 billion. Apple took in US$171 billion in the same timeframe.

Samsung's gold is in customers and how they treat employees.  Korean Companies are not bound to place shareholder pursuits first, like is required of US companies.

I also haven't read of any Samsung Factory workers jumping out of windows; but perhaps you have.  :) The trash at Apple is in the suggestion that nets outside windows would prevent suicides.  Samsung, as a company in a civilized 1st world status, probably would have given factory workers an extended break, maybe a paid vacation... But perhaps your investment portfolio has Apple Stock.  I don't own any stock in consumer electronics companies.
