Days before Apple is expected to announce the media-dubbed "iWatch" wearable, Google has jumped in to tease upcoming features to its Android Wear platform: offline music support, GPS support, and downloadable watch faces.

The new additions are set to arrive "in the coming months" to both new and existing Android Wear watches.

These updates, however, were already informally announced by Google's engineering director for Android Wear a few days ago -- and its no secret why Google wanted to give the unreleased features more airtime, despite the fact that they're months away from an actual debut.

And with that, Google also reminds us that Asus' Zen Watch and LG's G Watch R are still on the way, and will be released before the end of 2014. This, of course, contrasts the latest iWatch rumors, which say Apple's device will arrive in 2015.
