Challenging Squarespace and Shopify, today online store builder Tictail made its mobile debut with a native iOS app.

The Swedish startup, backed by Thrive Capital and Balderton with $9.5 million in funding to date, now hosts 55,000 stores -- up from 23,000 in February of this year.

Although this is Tictail's first mobile app, chief executive Carl Waldekranz says the company has already seen "more than 50% of our traffic and 40% of our purchases happening across mobile" via Tictail's mobile-optimized website.

The app puts curation front and center, with categories like "Street Style" and "I Heart Vintage," and it's clearly well designed -- even when compared to design-centric competitors like Squarespace.
