Action sports camera maker GoPro will launch a new GoPro Channel on the Roku television-streaming box platform this spring.

The new GoPro Channel is custom-designed to look good on Roku’s video distribution boxes for the living room. The channel could take GoPro’s action sports videos to a potential audience of millions of Roku users. The market for action cameras has grown so fast that GoPro was able to go public last year.

With this deal, Roku joins GoPro’s expanding roster of distribution partners including Xbox, LG smart TVs, and Virgin America.

The channel will have featured playlists recommended by GoPro, as well as a section for favorite videos. You can also learn which GoPro cameras were used to get certain shots in GoPro’s product showcase section.

Adam Dornbusch, GoPro’s head of programming, said in an interview with VentureBeat, “Our business is telling meaningful stories of the world’s most passionate camera users, and now you’re going to be able to see it on big screens connected to Roku boxes.”

He added, “The content will be engaging and presented in a lot of verticals. It’s also going to be heavily customized for Roku.”

The channel works across multiple generations of Roku devices.

“We are looking to extend our distribution even further in 2015 and 2016, ” Dornbusch said.
