As Foursquare spelunks down the discovery rabbit hole, the company's check-in app, Swarm, gets more social.
Today Foursquare announced that Swarm has been updated with one-to-one and group messaging on iOS and Android. This update furthers Foursquare's secondary goal of connecting you with friends nearby -- a thesis that hasn't proved wildly successful for Swarm (on iOS or Android, when you look at overall download rates).
Foursquare calls its "one tap messaging" feature "an even faster way to meet up with friends."
Also, Foursquare teases that it may "bring back more of the fun and personality of the older versions of Foursquare." That may be a good thing: Not everyone loves the new Foursquare.
