Updated 4:22 p.m. PT with details on Oak Investment Partners' involvement.
Brit Media, best known for its site Brit + Co, today revealed that it's raised at least $23.1 million from Oak Investment Partners and others. This is Brit Media's first raise in nearly two years.
The site, a lifestyle publication focused on DIY culture with some e-commerce and education elements, has attracted a star cast of investors over the past few years. Though we don't yet know every firm that participated in the most recent round (which Sam Biddle discovered), past investors include Marissa Mayer, Gary Vaynerchuk, Index Ventures, General Catalyst, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, and Oak.
Brit Media is a creation of Google alum Brit Morin. Her company raised $6.3 million back in 2013 and raised a $1.3 million seed before that. To date, the company's raised at least $30.6 million.
Reached by VentureBeat, Oak managing partner Fred Harman confirmed that he participated in the round. Brit Media confirmed the raise but declined to share the names of other participating firms.
