Hedvig, a storage platform created by the database engineer behind Facebook’s Cassandra, Avinash Lakshman, announced today it raised $18 million in series B funding. The round was led by Vertex Ventures, whose general partner In Sik Rhee joined the board.
The announcement comes two months after the company announced $12.5 million in funding from Atlantic Bridge Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and True Ventures. With almost $30.5 million, Hedvig plans to "fuel rapid global expansion and address the demands of its growing consumer base."
True Partners and Atlantic Bridge Capital also participated in the new round.
