Exeros, a Santa Clara start-up that specializes in data mapping software (it finds relationships between datasets) said today it has raised an additional $12 million in a Series B round of private equity financing.
The round was led by AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. (NYSE: AB), with Exeros' original investors Bay Partners and Globespan Capital Partners participating. The Series B round of funding will be used to grow the sales team, add sales coverage in new geographies and to grow the engineering team in order to extend the product line, the company said.
The company told VentureBeat that the deal is significant because it is unusual for venture firms to still be funding software companies targeting the "enterprise," or large companies.
