Google plans to test Project Loon, its ambitious attempt to deliver Internet connectivity via hot air balloons, in Western Australia later this year.

The search giant has partnered with Telstra, an Australian telecommunications company, to test 20 balloons in December, according to The Guardian. Google has previously run Project Loon tests in New Zealand.

Ultimately, Google says the goal is have a constellation of balloons floating above regions where Internet and wireless connectivity is scarce.
