If you've ever used artificial intelligence to write an email, you may know what banal AI-generated writing looks like. AI emails are janky, usually starting with ‘I hope this email finds you well!’ and for many the signs of AI writing are obvious.

Beyond the sound of artificial content being a dead giveaway, AI detectors can also spot robot-written words with some degree of accuracy.

Humanizing AI content

Undetectable AI, a daring and disruptive startup launched nearly two years ago, was one of the first companies to pioneer what it calls an AI humanizer. It works by rewriting text like real humans using machine learning and NLP.

Not a ChatGPT wrapper

Unlike some AI software, Undetectable AI doesn’t use mainstream AI models as a foundation.

Instead, Christian Perry — CEO of Undetectable — says, “We’ve developed a special and unique AI model that was specifically built to make AI-created text indistinguishable from human content.”

Part of Undetectable’s ethos is giving users something unique. “We felt it wouldn’t be right to just reskin publicly available software and rebrand it as our tool,” so they built their own AI tool instead.

Taking a pro-human approach

AI is a hot topic. Some feel bullish, while others grapple with existential concerns. “We have a pro-human approach,” explains Perry. We believe that AI that augments humans effectively produces the highest-quality outputs possible.”

Perry argues that if AI-generated content is detectable, it may not augment the humans using it and could even harm them.

“Think about it like this: you use AI to help you send a message, write an email, or edit your work, and it does, but by stripping away the unique human essence in the process and making the person who used it seem like they were never involved in the process."

Solving a unique problem

The problem is that the most prominent and high-end AI models are trained on billions of text samples; whenever those models produce content, “they tend to generalize their training data,” Perry explains. “What that means is that ‘the voice’ of large language models is a fusion of its training data, making it unique, but not in a good way.”

Christian says AI has a specific writing style, “it’s almost as if ‘sounding like AI’ has become an insult.

The numbers don’t lie. Since its launch in May 2023, Undetectable AI has garnered a massive user base of nearly 16 million people. Perry sees humanization as a much-needed panacea in the AI space.

“There’s clearly a problem we’re solving and a growing market for what our software offers.”

Looking forward: New products and enterprise integrations

The audacious startup says its tech now powers numerous businesses, and future enterprise deals are in negotiation and on the horizon.

Undetectable AI is also launching many new products, such as an AI job application bot that optimizes people’s resumes, creates personalized cover letters, and applies for relevant job positions on auto-pilot.

“People want to work, and a blocker for people can be how many applications they submit before even getting an interview.”

Perry says his company is already penning deals with various organizations to integrate its current and future offerings into tangible and helpful enterprise solutions.

Undetectable AI is gunning to be more than a lifestyle startup or fad. The company has demonstrated consistent growth and rapid adoption, becoming a profitable long-term venture that was — and still is — 100% self-funded.
