Excited for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this December?
Well, there's another Star Wars blockbuster coming up: the forthcoming release next week of the Star Wars comic book, the first Marvel-published comic in the canon in 20 years.
In a post today, Marvel gave readers a sneak peek into the sketchbook of John Cassaday, the project's lead artist.
"According to...Cassaday, he’s been applying all the same styling and sensibility to his work in the new, ongoing Star Wars series that he’s become known for in all his other Marvel projects," Marvel wrote, "yet with that extra-added something. Hey, after all, it’s Star Wars!"
Cassaday is known for his work on a wide range of comics, including X-Men, Avengers, Hellboy, and others.
The new Star Wars comics will no doubt be a boon for Marvel -- which is owned by Disney, which also owns Lucasfilm, and which is producing The Force Awakens. The film will likely be one of the top grossing of the year, although it doesn't open until December, and the comics will probably do huge business.
