DataSync
Its lead product, the DataSync Suite, serves as a central launchpad for email, contacts systems, calendars, accounting software, sales pipelines, customer relations management software and web site management tools. Because it helps enterprises store all of this information in the cloud, employees can access information from anywhere (even mobile devices), and don't need to enter it more than once. It can also be plugged into Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal and other desktop applications so that the data can be accessed and used offline.
The idea is that small businesses can use the suite to set up a basic IT infrastructure without the large time and financial investment that it has required in the past. Based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the company also plans to better integrate web site management application Drupal into its offerings. It also distinguishes itself by cultivating an open source support community to help its users assemble effective software-as-a-service infrastructures.
DataSync lists Enterprise Institute and RAIN Source Capital as investors.
