upcoming app store, dubbed the PlayNow arena, will feature more than 45,000 free apps cataloged by GetJar. The apps, which cover 38 phone models in 13 countries, are a mix of Java and Symbian flavors. Sony Ericsson seems eager to avoid missing the current buzz over app stores. Instead of a solid date, PlayNow is said to be "imminent." The company will begin accepting new apps for review on July 1.
