Sphere, the San Francisco blog search engine we mentioned last week (which had delayed its launch; see our summary of it) is now up and running.
We've been told the company turned down an acquisition offer, and for now plans to go it alone. Indeed, it has just raised another $3.75 million in financing from Hearst Publishing, Trident Capital and About.com founder Scott Kurnit. Sphere had raised $500,000 in seed capital from Radar Partners, Will Hearst, True Ventures and other angels back in April 2005.
