Erick Tseng, the lead product manager for Google Android, has been waiting three years to show off his new thing. Tseng was at the launch of the T-Mobile G1 cell phone today at the T-Mobile store in San Francisco. Tseng took some time to show a couple of applications, including Shazam, which identifies a song that you hear and allows you to buy it on the spot, and Bar Code Reader, an application that allows you to scan in business cards and other objects with bar codes. In doing so, you can bypass manual entry of your contacts and also find out the best prices via a Google search for an object you're holding in your hand. Check out our demo of the G1.
