Yahoo unveiled a refreshed version of its Yahoo News service that focuses on finding the stories you actually want to read, the company announced today.

Over the past year under the direction of CEO Marissa Mayer, Yahoo has been focused on killing off services few people use, increasing its mobile presence, and revitalizing its most important products. Last month, the company announced a partnership with Twitter that integrated tweets into the Yahoo News feed. As VentureBeat pointed out, the partnership was a smart move that would likely pull in new users and help differentiate Yahoo News from the multitude of competing news services. The same can be said about this new version of Yahoo News.

Basically, Yahoo News is now getting more competitive with services like the CNN-owned news reader Zite, which really try to curate your daily news while also giving you a level of control.

The newly refreshed version of Yahoo News should be rolling out to users across the country over the next few days, according to the company.
