Vinfolio, a San Francisco start-up that sells fine wine and cellar management software and other services, has raised $1.6 million from ten individual investors, led by Jean Michel Valette, of Robert Mondavi Winery and Colin Lind, managing partner at Blum Capital Partners.

Valette and Lind will both take board seats, the company said.

The investment represents the first outside investment for Vinfolio, which was founded in 2003 and until now funded by its founder and chief executive, Stephen Bachmann

The company started an e-commerce site last month, and appears to have more momentum than the struggling Wine.com, which has hit numerous bumps over the last six years as it tries to find a business model.
