In this economy, a lot of people need help finding work. That includes plenty of workers who make over $100,000 a year. That’s the field RiseSmart specializes in — and a $3 million round of funding will help it continue its work.

While you may know TheLadders as a site to go to when you’re looking for $100K+ jobs, RiseSmart differentiates itself in that its human resource team searches for job matches on your behalf. Some people will undoubtedly appreciate that burden being lifted when compared to TheLadders, which focuses on self-search.

RiseSmart offers both a consumer service called Job Concierge and a corporate service called Transition Concierge. The difference is that on top of RiseSmart’s HR teams seeking out jobs for you, Transition Concierge helps with resume preparation and transitional tasks when a corporation lays off a worker. Something that, as we all know, has been happening a lot recently.

The $3 million first round was provided by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP). In addition, NVP general partner Venkat Mohan is joining RiseSmart’s board of directors. The Sunnyvale, Calif-based company was founded in February 2007 with $1.5 million in seed funding.
