Cloud Engines, maker of PogoPlug, a device that lets you access and share content from your hard drive via the internet, today announced two new features, including the ability to stream rich media content to game consoles, as well as automatically backup content folders.

The two new features will allow PogoPlus owners to stream media directly to any Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 so that they can watch movies, share slideshows or listen to music no matter what computer they are using or where they are. The company notes that each game console will automatically read content on the Pogoplug device and make it accessible for the user. The other new feature, dubbed Active Copy, will automatically update and backup content to a specified folder. Folders can also be backed up from device to device.

Recently, the company launched a next generation of the Pogoplug, which lets users easily connect the device to additional USB drives for expanded data capacity and sharing functionality. Cloud Engines also raised a new round of funding totaling $3 million. It plans to expand in Europe and sell the device in U.S. retail stores.

Current users will receive an automatic update with the new features today according to the company’s announcement.
