Social media titan Facebook was down for a large number of users Monday morning, leaving those affected people less than thrilled but still willing to make a few jokes.
Last week, a Facebook issue took down websites as large as CNN, BuzzFeed, and Yelp, whose visitors were redirected to a Facebook error page, so scrutiny of the site’s performance is higher than normal.

Two VentureBeat writers and and the site Down For Everyone Or Just Me confirmed that Facebook was not functioning normally this morning. The site Down Right Now indicated that based on usage, Facebook was suffering a “likely service disruption.” However, two VentureBeat writers said Facebook was working smoothly for them.
Some folks on Twitter used the opportunity to crack jokes about the situation:
