At one time, you could always recognize the coordinator of a conference. It was the person carrying the largest binder.
Now, of course, you’ll have to use other identifiers. That’s because of companies like Bizzabo, which is today launching the next gen of its cloud-based event management platform.
Called the Event Success Platform, it adds a truckload of features to the previous version.
Before, the event platform from the Tel Aviv- and New York City-based company covered “everything about the event experience,” cofounder and chief marketing officer Alon Alroy told VentureBeat.
With more than 4,000 professional conferences under its virtual belt, the software included agenda and speaker management, networking and community tools, polling, surveys, and the ability to send LinkedIn invitations.
Now, “it’s an integrated platform covering the entire life event cycle,” Alroy said, adding event website creation, a ticketing platform, launching of a mobile app, email marketing, event-oriented contact management, new tools for building an event-related community, and analytics, all managed through an event dashboard.
“Instead of using seven to ten different tools, you can now do all of that” in the new platform, Alroy said. While the platform does not yet enable the sale of conference T-shirts or other event-related products, he said that capability was on the platform’s roadmap.
With their management of countless details and communications, events are a natural fit for cloud-based management. Alroy compared his all-in-one offering to event registration apps like DoubleDutch and EventBrite, the latter of which also handles ticketing.
He added that his company’s biggest competitor is probably Cvent, which he described as “legacy event software mostly for enterprises.”
“We believe we’re innovating by making this available to small to medium-size events” ranging from 100 to 5,000 attendees, he said.
Feature differentiators, Alroy said, include a dynamic contact management that he described as “CRM [customer relationship management] for events.”
Other platforms require users to make changes in a variety of places when you have to change a speaker, he told us, while Event Success ripples the change throughout the event and pushes a notification to participants’ phones.
He also described Bizzabo’s platform as “much easier to use, more mobile and social,” with more community-building tools and more participant self-service than other products.
