The first thing many of us remember about the Bing search engine’s desktop debut was the beautiful imagery on the home page. It covered the whole screen with some stunning photo art.
Now Microsoft has given the Bing mobile home page the same treatment, and the results are nice indeed.
Microsoft says the new design is available on Android and Apple phones.
The changes announced today are more than cosmetic. Microsoft says its research has shown that users want the mobile site to support a “swipe-up” card design.
So users can swipe up on the screen to “explore,” and tap twice on the screen to drill down for more information.
The redesign also includes an “image of the day” card with information about the image, a card that shows the most popular news items of the day, a more prominent “Bing Rewards” card, and some other minor improvements.
