Snapchat appears to be experiencing an outage and the internet doesn’t seem happy that they can’t fully use the ephemeral messaging app. It doesn’t appear that this issue is affecting all users, but some in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and in Southeast Asia have reported problems.
The company’s support team tweeted out a few minutes ago that it’s looking into the issues:
Some Snapchatters are having issues with the app. Thanks for reporting this, we are looking into it now!

Reports of downtime started around 8 a.m. Pacific today according to DownDetector.com and have risen, with most user complaints being that they’re not able to send snaps, their feed won’t refresh or aren’t receiving updates from their friends, and that they just can’t connect to Snapchat’s servers.
The app’s outage joins a growing list of services that have recently had some connectivity issues, including Uber, Google Calendar, and LinkedIn. Once Snapchat users became aware that the app isn’t working at 100 percent, they took to Twitter to express their outrage:

Snapchat is down. How are tweens supposed to talk to each other now? And, it's almost lunch time…how will they know what you're eating??

This isn’t the first time (or last) that Snapchat has gone down. In May, the service went down with users experiencing similar symptoms, but the issue was resolved within an hour. With hundreds of millions of hours spent watching videos on the messaging app, every minute spent offline certainly costs Snapchat. But if you’re freaking out about the app going down, here’s a way you can survive this terrible time.
We’ve reached out to Snapchat for more information and will update if we hear back.
Update at 9:30 a.m. Pacific on Friday: The outage is short-lived as Snapchat reports that the issues persisted for “less than an hour” for some users, and that it has resolved them.
