Absolut Vodka launched a Facebook Messenger bot today, and users can find a free drink in their area by chatting with the bot, said Messenger VP David Marcus.
Marcus explained how the bot works today while onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt:
“With the case of Absolut, it actually tells you where to go to get a free drink on Absolut, what cocktail you want to have, get a code, you show up at the bar, you give the code to the bartender, he gives you your free drink, and when he gives you your free drink you get a notification inside of the thread that offers you a Lyft ride back home.”
The bot currently only serves customers in Denver, New York, Chicago, and Dallas. Washington D.C. will soon be added to the list of cities served by the Absolut bot, a company spokesperson said.
Drinks to choose from include an Absolut Lemon drop, Absolut mule, or Absolut and soda.
Once you choose a city, a series of buttons asks you to choose a neighborhood, then you choose a restaurant or bar, and a web browser window opens to generate a code.
