OpsRamp, which provides software to help IT teams better manage hybrid computing environments, announced today that it has received $20 million in funding from Sapphire Ventures.
The San Jose, California-based startup helps enterprises optimize IT services, infrastructure, applications, and data centers — both on-premises and in the cloud — by centralizing all applications and processes onto one platform. The software can run on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, as well as on private clouds.
According to OpsRamp cofounder and CEO Varma Kunaparaju, current IT tools only handle specific applications within siloed infrastructures.
“When we founded OpsRamp, we knew enterprise IT teams were struggling to serve their business units while handling the challenges of cloud adoption, migration, and management,” Kunaparaju said in a statement. “Our funding gives us the ability to deliver an integrated platform for IT teams to manage more workloads with less work.”
Kunaparaju has bootstrapped OpsRamp since founding it in 2014 and claims the startup has been cashflow positive since. This first round of institutional funding should allow the team to boost its go-to-market strategy and grow the team of 160.
At present, OpsRamp claims to have about 1,400 customers, including Dolby, Epsilon, KAR Auction Services, and Bio-Rad, who pay a monthly fee for the software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering.
Kunaparaju counts BMC, Hewlett-Packard (HP), and IBM as the company’s main competitors.
