Amazon is getting into the lucrative world of app-install ads today with the launch of its new ad platform.
Called Advertise Your App with Amazon, the service will allow developers to submit an app campaign for distribution across Fire devices and Amazon's mobile ad network.
Already Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Apple have ad platforms that enable app-install ads, and they're generating quite a bit of cash. App-install ads accounted for $1.67 billion in ad spending last year, according to a recent report by eMarketer. That number is expected to grow to $3 billion in 2015.
