Congratulations to Khush, the startup that wins a spot to attend and showcase its technology at the Web 2.0 Summit Web After Dark party in San Francisco next week.
VentureBeat teamed up with venture capital firm Canaan Partners to select most promising Web 2.0-related company nominees submitted by VB readers.
Runners up are iSyndica, Affective Interfaces and Happier.com.
As the winner, Kusch also receives a pass to the exclusive press pre-party and gets to pitch Canaan Partners in person for funding. Runners up will be added to Canaan’s VIP guest list for the invite-only after-party, where they can meet Canaan’s team in person and rub elbows with some of Silicon Valley’s top influencers. It’s all happening at the St. Regis, a short walk from the Westin Market Street, where the summit is taking place. The party will be broadcast live to the Canaan web site. Here’s more information about the winners:
- Khush develops intelligent music applications. Its first product, LaDiDa, is a reverse karaoke iPhone app. You sing into the phone, and LaDiDa’s patent-pending technology will analyze your voice and compose music to match. Khush was founded by Prerna Gupta, Stanford BA 2004, and Parag Chordia, Stanford PhD 2005.
- iSyndica is a digital distribution platform, enabling hundreds of photographers, videographers and illustrators to distribute, promote and track their work from one place. Built on top of Amazon Web Services, iSyndica is designed to become a web distributor, distributing content and products alike to sales channels across the web
- Affective Interfaces offers sentiment analysis. The company says its product will be embedded in many consumer electronics in the near term, and solve significant pains in several large unserved markets. It will also bring its near real time emotion analytics demo tool to Web After Dark, which should be pretty cool.
- Happier.com is a “personal trainer for your happiness,” helping users track, measure and improve their happiness. Through scientifically-validated online game-like exercises , happier.com trains users to become more optimistic, less depressed, and happier.
