Back in May, Google introduced a handful of new features to Google Maps, one of which was lane guidance, which tells you the best lane to be in for your next exit.

Now, however, Google is bringing the feature to a handful of countries in Europe, kicking off with the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, and Ireland.

The feature is only available in turn-by-turn navigation mode and is open to both iOS and Android users.

For anyone who relies on GPS to navigate towns and cities, this feature will be a godsend --- no more last-minute ziz-zagging or cutting off other motorists as you try to maneuver yourself into the correct position to make a turn.

Today's news comes shortly after Google revealed that it was adding high-resolution 3D imagery to Maps in New York City and San Francisco, with more to be added in 2015.
